The show's 30 years old now, so ripe for the remake treatment...
One American classic borrows a cast from another - this whole list was based on what a great Fonzie "Joey" would make, with his Italian pedigree and his 'how you doin'?'.
Matthew Perry could be the straight man for once, with a ginger dye job as Richie.
David Schwimmer's spaniel eyes and on/off love storyline fit the bill for Chachi (with Jennifer Aniston as Joanie of course).
And Elliot Gould would play the hell out of Mr Cunningham, and enjoy those prolonged rounds of applause whenever he enters the shot.
